Yeah seriously, those villains in epic fantasy quests always die for stupid reasons.
Like Lord of the rings, Sauron explodes because someone took his ring, a singing tree is defeated by a random guy who starts singing, the Nazgul's are blown away by a tidel wave, later by birds, and in the end get hit by a errupting vulcano. Gee, Frodo and the rest might as well stayed home and let the villains kill themselves.
